  : The property was very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a weekend away. Great location too, close to the beach in Alnmouth and Arnwick Castle both less than 15 minutes drive away. The owner Dorothy was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again if travelling back to the area.

  : Property was comfortable and well equipped if you wished to cook. Decent size fridge and smaller freezer, double oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Property was cleaned to a good standard. Able to get into the cottage without contact with the owners. Walls were thick, didnt hear the neighbours. Soft beds. Large and fluffy bath towel each. Boiler room has hooks so can dry out wet coats and boots there. Large table and 6 chairs if you wished to eat outside. Left tablets for dishwashing and capsules for washing machine, small amount of sea salt. Tv is modern with netflix if you use your own details. Wifi dropped out sometimes but only briefly and we didnt try to download anything. It was fine for normal emails etc. Didnt want to use the barbecue but a very impressive looking bit of kit was carried into the garden ready for the following week. Liked seeing the hare on several days and the red legged partridge.
  : Drive was once tarmac but now about half has rough damaged edges or potholes - shows a lack of care for visitors not to at least fill the holes. Woken every morning near dawn by a noisy pheasant, windows are not double glazed and curtains let in plenty of light, take a sleep mask and ear plugs. Round table in corner of kitchen fine for 2 but would be uncomfortable to fit 6 around it, even 4 would be cramped. Steep stairs but the door to them would help protect children. No microwave, no colander although there was a sieve. No coffee or milk for an arrival drink, one tea bag, biscuits not nut safe. Dishwasher not totally effective, perhaps needs rinse aid or more salt. Recycling facilities poor. Heating on time switch not thermostat. One bedroom damp, needs a dehumidifier. A helpful email should be sent immediately the booking is accepted and should include key collection arrangements - we were never told where to get keys, which restaurants have outdoor space, details of recycling and any local market days.
