Holiday Inn - Allentown I-78 & Rt. 222 an IHG Hotel

  : At first look when you walk in, the hotel is very nice and modern looking. Looks and feels clean and trendy. The staff member who checked is in was very nice and friendly. They confirmed we get free breakfast in the morning and gave us vouchers for it. They have a pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, and it was very nice and maintained. It's a 5-10 minute drive to get to Dorney Park. The beds were super comfortable. The mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine worked.
  : So many things were broken. For starters, the locks and keys. My family and many other guests had to keep getting their key cards redone because no one was able to get in their room. One woman told me that her family had to get it done every day of the 3 days they had been there. We also had a separate key card for the pool, but that lock also was broken so they ended up propping the door open with a trash can. And the side doors of the building were either unable to lock so you didn't even need a key to enter or they couldn't be unlocked and a brick was propping it open.We were on the third floor. The ice machine on our floor wasn't working so we had to go all the way to the first floor. I don't mind walking, but this is a very big hotel and we were at the end of a hallway several long hallways away from the center where the elevators and ice machines were. After long days of being on your feet and just wanting to rest, that long trek for ice is a pain in the ass.The carpets in the room were sticky so I wore my flip flips the whole time. We were there for 2 nights and Housekeeping did come in and give new towels and take out the trash. They didn't make beds (even when there was no personal belongings on the bed that might prevent them from making them) and they didn't leave more toilet paper.The fire alarm went off at 4am our first night there and all the guests had to be outside for an hour while the fire department did their thing. From what I heard, there was a fire in the kitchen. Because of the fire, their food was contaminated and couldn't be served. They put up signs that said there would be no breakfast or dinner, but they never compensated us for it. They didn't try to provide anything, no outside pastries or granolas or something, no refund, and not even coffee or tea. That certainly put a damper on the whole experience.The location, while close to Dorney Park, was awkwardly situated by the highway.

  : The room never was clean up by the staff during my stay. I even hd to asked for toilet paper and towel, because they never clean up the room and empty out our bathroom and room trash can. I had to take the trash and put it in the trash can by the elevator.
